Sustainable Processes to Empower Marginalized Communities
We continue to invest in sustainable communities by actively promoting non-farm livelihood activities and diversifying the income portfolios of poor households, especially women. We are also working towards a goal of ensuring that the children are in school and are learning well through improvement in pedagogy and learning environment. We promote agronomical practices and micro irrigation techniques that save water in cultivation and enable farmers to improve their net returns.
Continued Investment in Green Buildings
We Sharply focus on green buildings to combat climate change and control greenhouse gas emissions. All new ITC facilities are designed in accordance to green norms which are also being incorporated into existing buildings to the extent possible. These continued investments in renewable energy enable ITC Businesses to remain carbon positive for the 20th year in a row.
Reduction in Water Use
We conserve water on both supply and demand side by water intake, recycling and reusing wastewater, and installing efficient, ITC continues to be water positive for the 23rd year in a row as a result of our water .
Improved Waste Recycling
We work towards recycling 100% of the total waste generated and implement source segregation to reduce waste going to landfills. Our waste management projects have enabled the company to sustain our solid waste recycling positive status for the past 18 years.
